INTRODUCTION

The User Recommended feature displays a curated list of the top 20 content items most highly rated by users across the system. It helps users identify quality reports, dashboards, and analyses that their peers have found most valuable. This flat listing is accessible only from the Hub, through the Left Vertical Ribbon Menu, allowing users to explore trusted, community-endorsed content efficiently.

HOW IT WORKS

The User Recommended list is built from user-generated ratings on content items.
Users can rate any content from 1 to 5 stars. The system calculates an average rating score for each item based on all users’ inputs. The top 20 highest-rated items that a user has permission to access are displayed in descending order of rating. This process ensures that users can quickly find the most impactful and relevant resources as determined by collective user feedback.

ACCESSING USER RECOMMENDED

The User Recommended view can be easily accessed from the Content Manager. A thumbs-up icon represents it for easy identification. Each content item displays its average rating using a 5-star scale, visible in both the item listing and the Action Panel. This view allows users to explore top-rated reports or dashboards without navigating through folder hierarchies.

AVAILABLE ACTIONS AND TOOLS

All items in the User Recommended view can be used like any standard content within the Content Manager. Users can open and view the recommended content, copy, share, or favorite items, and perform standard management actions. However, users cannot paste copied items into the User Recommended view itself.

RATING A CONTENT ITEM

Users can rate content directly from its Action Panel in any Content Manager view. Click the star icons (1–5) to assign a rating. The chosen rating can be updated at any time. Below the user’s personal rating, the system displays the overall average rating from all users. This simple mechanism allows users to contribute feedback that shapes future recommendations.
