INTRODUCTION

The Content Explorer in SapienceIQ is the master content view for managing content. It provides a folder and item interface allowing users to organize, manage, and navigate their content efficiently. The Content Explorer is one of the ways to view content in the Content Manager toolset and provides the richest functionality among content views.

HOW IT WORKS

Users access the Content Explorer from the third icon from the vertical ribbon menu in Hub. The Explorer workspace is divided into several key components:

  • My Content: Personal domain accessible only to the logged-in user

  • Item Listing: Displays a list of content items that match the selections, search, and filters applied on the page. It includes files of all content types

  • Views: You can also change the view of your content to Details, Content or Tile view

  • Add Folders: You can add folders within your folder hierarchy to ensure the right content is placed in right folders

  • Search: You can search for a specific item, dashboard, etc

  • Filters: You can search by folders, discoveries, presentations, and/or publications

  • Workgroup: Shared domain for users with common roles

  • This will provide you tile view of details to Admin Content, Manager Content, Employee Content as well as All Users Content

  • You must have appropriate permissions to access this content

  • Public: : Shared domain based on role assignments

  • Item Listing: Displays a list of content items that match the selections, search, and filters applied on the page. It includes files of all content types, such as Model, Discover, Formulate, Tabulate, Present, Publish, and Illustrate, as well as sub-folders within the selected parent folder.

  • Explorer Functions and Actions: Users can manage folders and items through context menus. Actions include adding folders, filtering content types, viewing deleted items, and accessing lineage. Item mechanics support single or multiple item operations with standard Content Manager tools.

  • Organize and manage content efficiently across My Content, Workgroup Content, Public Content

  • Quick search and advanced filtering within the context of the current folder

  • Flexible view options for different display preferences and metadata insights

LIMITATIONS
  • Users cannot create top-level folders if disabled by Admin settings

  • Deleted items shown are soft deleted; permanently deleted items are not recoverable from Explorer

  • Lineage view is available only for supported content types
